As NAEYC moves toward the implementation phase of its collaborative framework, it also recognizes that transforming a field into a recognized profession can’t be accomplished with a fifty state strategy, but a strategy that begins with “some wins” in “some states.” These incremental wins are what spark a national movement.
Vermont’s workforce showed, in overwhelming numbers, support for Advancing ECE As A Recognized Profession. As we, as a workforce, consider how Power To The Profession recommendations may apply to Vermont and make changes and choices appropriate for our state, we are moving toward implementation. As we take each step, we become a little more cohesive and position ourselves a little bit better for increased funding.
Every state is doing this differently. At the national level, NAEYC is paying attention to our incremental wins.
