Joining the VTaeyc Board of Directors in January of 2018, Sharron Harrington brings passion and a commitment to advocate for Vermont’s children, families, and dedicated early educators. She is a graduate of Hallmark Institute of Photography, with a concentration in portraiture and business, and has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Behavioral Sciences from Bellevue University with numerous additional credits in early childhood coursework.
Sharron began her journey into early childhood education after owning and operating a photography studio for over 15 years. After serving as Vermont Birth to Five’s regional manager for Bennington, Brattleboro, and Rutland Regions for three years, Sharon is now Let’s Grow Kids’ manager of strategic initiatives for southern Vermont. Previously, she held positions as a resource development and referral specialist for Bennington County’s Community Based Child Care Support Services, was a toddler and preschool teacher, a children’s librarian, and an AmeriCorps Action for Children Today member. Early in her professional career, Sharron held positions as the director of advertising for Eagle Publishing’s Weekly Division and the advertising sales manager for the Brattleboro Reformer. Her unconventional career path has fueled her desire to learn and helped her develop a varied skill set.
Sharron lives with her husband at the end of a dirt road in Arlington surrounded by the beauty of Vermont. She enjoys spending time with their two adult children, socializing with friends, kayaking, and travel.
