Our membership is open to anyone who cares about the education and well-being of young children. Membership is maintained by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). A membership in VAEYC and NAEYC go hand-in-hand which allows you to play a greater role in improving early childhood education in your community as well as around the country.

As a member you may take advantage of a wide array of resources to help improve your work with children. These resources include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Online access to Young Children journal in the NAEYC “Members Only” section along with Young Children journal arriving in your mailbox six times per year

As a member you can further the cause of NAEYC’s voluntary accreditation system, which helps improve early childhood education programs and recognizes high-quality programs so parents can make informed choices. And you can promote the development of respected position statements on issues such as developmentally appropriate practice, licensing to ensure health and safety, or supporting families. Together we can help to increase understanding and support for high-quality early childhood education among policy makers and the public through a wide range of education, advocacy, and public awareness activities.
